A CONTRARIAN TAKE ON CONGRESSIONAL TERM LIMITS
Main Article Content
Abstract
The prospect of imposing term limits on members of Congress seems to unite all parts of the American political organism. From left to right and top to bottom, an overwhelming majority of people want to see the enactment of congressional term limits of some kind. While there are some exceptions, it is at least certain that no one can be found speaking as vociferously against congressional term limits as in their favor. The following paper seeks to shift that balance, however slightly, by attempting to disabuse proponents of congressional term limits of the prospect’s supposed simplicity and utility.
