About the Journal
Focus and Scope
JSR@IUE celebrates the accomplishments of dedicated undergraduate and graduate students' research, scholarship, & creative activity. We are working toward a high-quality journal published by Indiana University East, Journal of Student Research at Indiana University East, and supported as an expression of students completing research as part of the academic process. The journal lives online and a print publication of selected articles will occur once each year. Student submissions are reviewed by faculty advisors and the editorial board. and titled . Students in capstone courses, the honor's program, graduate work, travel enhanced experiences, and other special projects are encouraged to submit to the online journal. Student Research Day presenters may submit their work as an article for the SRD, online issue. This includes IUE-SUMRS Program students who are encouraged to provide an article as part of the award. Articles, presentations, and other formats are encouraged to demonstrate the breadth of student endeavors.
Peer Review Process
Submitted student work is vetted through faculty research advisors and the editorial board.
- Faculty Research Advisor is responsible for content vetting.
- Section Editors and Journal Editors work to help students perfect a publishable product.
- Co-Editors provide oversite and assign submissions
The OJS-IUSW system manages this process, specifically the selection process for submissions.options for reviewers and editors to work with each submission, make suggestions, accept or reject the submissions.
A Promotional issue was published 03/31/2017. Volume 1, issue 1 of 3/2019 is the intital , regular publication. The online journal publishes selected articles in one print issue per year.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
Indiana University East Academic Affairs Office-Research & Creative Works, supports the Journal of Student Research at IUE in collaboration with the JSRIUE Editorial Board, and the Campus Library.
