Focus & Scope:

JSRIUE celebrates the accomplishments of dedicated undergraduate and graduate students' research and scholarship activity at Indiana University East. We are working toward a high-quality journal, the Journal of Student Research at Indiana University East, published by Indiana University East Campus Library. The journal lives online. Student submissions are reviewed by a student editorial team, faculty librarians, and/or faculty mentors. Students in capstone courses, the honors program, graduate work, travel education experiences, service learning, and other special projects are especially encouraged to submit their research papers to the online journal.

Please note that the journal is limited to articles.  If you wish to publish a PowerPoint or poster presentation, please contact Beth South at eabrockm@iu.edu and ask about the IU Scholarworks repository.

Publication Frequency

A Promotional issue was published 03/31/2017. Starting with Volume 1, issue 1 of 3/2019 as the initial, regular yearly publication. The online journal publishes selected articles annually in the fall.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Journal History

The Promotional issue of the journal was published 03/31/2017. The journal process began as a group of interested IU East faculty and librarians. It currently runs as Honors course in the fall semester, where students actively participate in academic publication. The student editorial team works together to improve the journal's mission and to publish a high-caliber research journal issue.
