On Februarly 26, 2021, from 10am-3pm, Eastern Standard Time (New York time zone), the Journal of Teaching and Learning with Technology will host a conference of author panels, discussing the journal's special issue, “Transitioning to Online Teaching and Learning in a Time of Urgency.” 

2020 Special Issue Two: Call for Proposals

The Journal of Teaching and Learning with Technology (JoTLT) is issuing a call for a special issue on transitioning to online teaching and learning in a time of urgency. Faculty, students, and staff are currently experiencing the need to pivot teaching and learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. We encourage manuscripts from faculty, students with faculty co-authors/sponsors, staff (such as instructional designers, consultants, technologists, and advisors), and administrators. 

2020 Special Issue Call for Proposals

JoTLT is issuing a call for a special issue on uses of the learning management system (LMS) to promote self-regulated learning. The issue will be released in the summer of 2020. Topics could focus on LMS-supported feedback, metacognition, motivation, rubrics, scaffolding, and more. This issue may include empirical research, case studies, reflective essays, and critiques.

2019 Special Issue Call for Proposals

JoTLT is issuing a call for a special issue on physical learning spaces to be released in the summer of 2019. The issue will focus on the use of technology to enhance teaching and learning in classroom and informal learning spaces. This issue may include empirical research, case studies, reflective essays, and critiques.

JoTLT Submission Instructions

JoTLT will begin publishing one special issue a year after the 2018 issue is published. We have a sufficient number of articles pending publication at this time. Thank you to all those who have submitted manuscripts to JoTLT for consideration. All manuscripts currently in review will be considered for publication in the 2018 issue.

In light of the move to publish special issues, at this time, submissions not responding to a call for a special issue will not be accepted.

Instructions for the 2019 special issue will be announced in 2018.
