Malin Pereira, University of North Carolina at Charlotte

Malin Pereira (Ph.D., University of Wisconsin-Madison) is Professor and Chair of English at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Her first book, Embodying Beauty: Twentieth-Century American Women Writers' Aesthetics (Routledge, 2000), pairs black and white women writers' texts and includes a chapter on Plath and Gwendolyn Brooks. She is also author of Rita Dove's Cosmopolitanism (University of Illinois Press, 2003). Her current project is a book of substantial interviews with African American poets.
