George Fitzgerald grew up in Mentone, Indiana, where he finished his 12 years of education without having read one entire book. Later he became obsessed with Sylvia Plath, Marcel Proust, and Violette Leduc. He has tended bar, waitered, kept books, managed this and that business, and now lives in Wellfleet on Cape Cod. He works for the National Park Service, and loves having President Obama as his buck-stops-here boss. He keeps a blog called Literary Crushes/Grave Matters http://www.georgefitzgerald.blogspot.com/.
