A New Edition by Four Eminent Hoosiers

As a memorial to Indiana's distinguished historian, Logan Esarey, his essays on pioneer life were published in a limited edition in 1943. A second edition appeared in 1947. Now, four prominent Indianans unite to produce a new fine edition of The Indiana Home. The essays of Esarey, in which he embodied his deep-seated love of his native state as well as his knowledge of its history, are the heart of the volume; the seven full-page drawings of Franklin Booth picture the conditions in which the Hoosier home existed; the design of the book and the drawings of pioneer tools, implements, and furnishings contributed by the experienced artist-craftsman make it a truly beautiful book. Pertinent facts about Esarey, Booth, and Rogers are given to the reader in the introduction. The work is presented by the Indiana University Press in an edition limited to 1550 numbered copies at fifteen dollars.
