Abstract
Imprints is a “tribalography” (p. xv), interweaving stories to stimulate conversations about how the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians and the city of Chicago “have affected, influenced, and shaped each other” (p. x). Positioning Chicago as a frontier zone of interaction and change, John N. Low marshals eclectic evidence to argue convincingly that the Pokagon Potawatomi continually shape collective memories and identities through stories and monuments, claims-making and canoes.
