Hindsight: The Journal of Optometry History is the quarterly publication of The Optometric Historical Society (OHS), a program of Optometry Cares® - The AOA Foundation (OC). This journal publishes a variety of material that contributes new knowledge to optometry history, interprets historical sources from unique perspectives, and guides others in their research. Hindsight: Journal of Optometry History

Theme Issue: History of Women in Optometry

 We welcome submissions to Hindsight on topics relating to the history of women in optometry.  Examples of such topics could include biographical sketches of important women in optometric history, involvement of women in the early years of optometric organizations, and shifting demographics of optometry students and practitioners.

 

The Optometric Historical Society is a program of Optometry Cares – The AOA Foundation.  Hindsight is a refereed journal published online with distribution of print issues to OHS members who have paid to receive the print copy.  Information about Hindsight and OHS, along with back issues of Hindsight, and instructions to authors can be found at the journal website, https://scholarworks.iu.edu/journals/index.php/Hindsight.  Current issues of Hindsight are accessible to all OHS members at that website.

 

Authors who wish to have their papers considered for inclusion in this theme issue should submit them by September 1, 2019.  Papers can be submitted on the journal website or by sending an email with a Word document to the journal editor, David Goss, dgoss@indiana.edu.

 We welcome submissions to Hindsight on topics relating to the history of optometric education.  Examples of such topics could include optometry schools celebrating significant anniversaries in 2019, history of the role of optometry libraries in optometric education, historical role of organizations such as the Association of Schools and Colleges of Optometry, and role of optometry schools in promoting and preserving optometry history.
