Abstract

This paper examines the damage healthcare fraud is causing to our economy and the difficulties of trying to stymie its growth. The paper begins by defining fraud, health care fraud, and making comparisons to famous white collar crime cases. It then highlights the economic ramifications of health care fraud, and what has been done-and being done- to get it under control. Lastly, this paper examines factors that lead to fraud and potential solutions to explore in order to find feasible solutions that help manage healthcare fraud and its effect on the economy.
