Females Play a Weighting Game
Main Article Content
Abstract
"An astounding 65 million people and 85 percent of all women are dieting at any given moment." With beauty considered more important than health, females may become obsessed with dieting as early as third grade. In sports, dance, ballet, entertainment, and business the emphasis is on female thinness. Anorexia nervosa, bulimia, and compulsive overeating are three of the weighting games that women play. Often they are taught these games by their mothers or their peers.
