Contemporary Coffee Houses: How Accessibility, Playful Atmosphere, and Lack of Communication Make Up The Modern Third Place.
Main Article Content
Abstract
Over the course of a semester, I researched via observation and interviews how modern coffee shops make up a modern third place within our society. During my research I found out that they had several key aspects to research done on third places from before, while also having a vast difference in modern society based upon new technology that has entered society. The three areas which I covered within my paper are how the location is accessed, the atmosphere within the location, and how the lack of communication within the coffee house makes up modern third places.
