Alice Shields: A Brief Introduction into Her Life and Work

Abstract
I discuss the career of music composer Alice Shields and interviewed her for the purpose of this paper. Shields began her compositional career at dawning of electronic music in the United States. Pioneering sound collages using analog machines first designed by RCA at the legendary Columbia - Princeton Electronic Music Center, Shields has created music spanning five decades.
