Hello and welcome to the online home of New Directions in Folklore (NDiF)!  We will be returning as an open access, peer-reviewed e-Journal in September 2010 with Volume 8, no. 1/2!

In addition to our revitalization efforts, we are in the process of formatting and re-publishing all of the back issues of the journal from its previous incarnation (1997-2003).  Users wishing to locate these back issues of New Directions in Folklore (as well as archived issues of the new journal upon their publication) should click on the "1997-2003" tab below the NDiF logo)  Starting with Volume 7 and working backwards, we will be adding past issues frequently, and the entirety of the old NDiF publications are expected to be available online by June 2010.

We look forward to having you as readers and participants in a vibrant online community of folklore scholarship.  Moreover, we hope that you will visit our journal site as it continues to evolve.  Between the publications of this journal and the NewFolk listserv, we hope that a revitalized discussion of folkloristics in the twenty-first century will emerge.  In the meantime, we welcome you to reacquaint yourself with the journal and hope that you will help us in our efforts to contribute to the folklore discipline through new and exciting scholarship!

With warm regards,

Trevor J. Blank
