I was gratified to read Lester K. Little's thoughtful review of Pandemic Disease in the Medieval World: Rethinking the Black Death, edited by Monica H. Green. This volume initially appeared in November of 2014 as the inaugural double issue of The Medieval Globe, and I merely wish to offer a small correction to the reviewer's characterization of this journal's scope and frequency. Apart from this special issue, The Medieval Globe is published biannually--not annually--with only one issue devoted to a specific theme; other issue features a selection of peer-reviewed articles submitted via our website. TMG promotes scholarship in three related areas of study:
*the direct and indirect means by which peoples, goods, and ideas came into contact.
*the deep roots of global developments.
*the ways in which perceptions of the medieval past have been (and are) constructed around the world.
Contributions to a global understanding of the medieval period need not encompass the globe in any territorial sense. TMG invites submissions that analyze actual or potential connections, trace trajectories and currents, address topics of broad interest, or pioneer portable methodologies.
