Author Biography

Justin T. Brown-Ramsey, Boston College

Justin T. Brown-Ramsey is a PhD student in the English Department at Boston College. He is researching the development of print culture in colonial America and the early republic, especially as the press was used to preserve, erase, or distribute commentary about the culture of marginalized peoples. His current research project focuses on the role southern printers in Georgia and South Carolina played in both the persecution and emancipation of enslaved African Americans. He is also a Doctoral Fellow at Boston College’s Clough Center.
