John K. Young, Marshall University

John K. Young, a professor in the English department at Marshall University, is the author of Black Writers, White Publishers (2006), How to Revise a True War Story (2017), and The Roots of Cane: Jean Toomer and American Magazine Modernism (forthcoming 2024). He has also co-edited, with George Hutchinson, Publishing Blackness (2013), and, with Mary Ann Taylor-Hall and Susan Richards, Judy Young’s posthumous collection of poetry, A Careful Hunger (2019). From 2023-2025, Young is serving as STS president.
