Maria Johnston, Trinity College Dublin

Maria Johnston obtained her Doctorate in English from Trinity College Dublin in 2008 having written her doctoral thesis on Sylvia Plath and contemporary poetry. She is currently preparing the thesis for publication. She holds teaching posts at Mater Dei Institute (DCU) and at Trinity College, Dublin where she currently lectures in American poetry. She is a regular reviewer of contemporary poetry and is the reviewer of modern Irish poetry for the Year's Work in English Studies. She is also currently editing a collection of essays on poetry and politics and co-editing a collection of essays on Pearse Hutchinson. High Pop: The Irish Times Column of Stewart Parker, which she co-edited with Gerald Dawe, was published by Lagan Press in 2008.
