Elena Ciobanu, "Vasile Alecsandri" University of Bacau, Romania

Elena Ciobanu is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of English at "Vasile Alecsandri" University of Bacau, Romania. Her areas of interest include poetics and modern and contemporary American and British poetry and prose. Her publications include a volume of her own poems, Poezii cu ceas/Timed Poems (2004), and Sylvia Plath's Poetry: The Metamorphoses of the Poetic Self (2010). She has also published translations of contemporary British and American poems in various cultural magazines of Romania, and she regularly contributes essays to her permanent Anglo-Saxon Worlds column in the national cultural magazine Ateneu. She is the recipient of two Erasmus Teaching Fellowships, to Wroclaw, Poland (2005) and to Bordeaux, France (2010).
