Abstract

The Middle Dutch Roman der Lorreinen is partly an original continuation of two texts from the Lorrain Cycle. The poet of the continuation uses many different sorts of repetition. This article demonstrates that the repeated elements of the story relate both to the structure of the macronarrative and to the nature of the main characters.
