Author Biography

Joshua Piker, University of Oklahoma

Trained in history and anthropology, Joshua Piker is an Associate Professor in the Department of History at the University of Oklahoma. His work focuses on the history native peoples in what is today the Southeastern United States, including the place of the region’s native societies in a broader colonial world. He is the author of Okfuskee: A Creek Indian Town in Colonial America (Harvard University Press, 2004) and is presently a NEH Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Huntington Library.
