Local Solar Eclipse Events

Abstract
The 2024 Solar eclipse presented a significant opportunity to Richmond and local businesses. This paper explores the expectations and the results of solar eclipses and the impact it had on the local businesses and their people. Starting with the theoretical framework where you look at business and community relationships, the paper grows to talk about specific expectations from the people of the town. Despite high efforts to draw attention to their business, many businesses failed to generate anywhere close to the expected revenue. This could be used to learn how to react in the future to similar once-in-a-lifetime events and underscores the need for business to understand their relationship with the community.
