Reimagining Higher Education & Student Affairs through the Lens of Critical Black Thought

Abstract
This is a call to action for practitioners, educators, faculty, etc. in Higher Education and Student Affairs (HESA) to think and act critically about the seriousness and magnitude of the existence and complexities of Black women, especially in the HESA field. The rigorous, critical, and outstanding literature in Critical Black Thought can be directly applied to if and how Black women are being valued by institutions, departments, and even the nation.The learning outcomes of this current events paper is for those that work in Higher Education to be informed about the environment and experiences of Black women (faculty, students, professors, etc.) using literature from Critical Black Thought, understanding how institutions are (mis)treating their Black women, and a call to action for institutions providing a foundation of Black Feminist Thought, Critical Race Theory, and more.
