Focus and Scope

The journal’s primary mission is to serve the educational objectives of the ASA and as a consequence be seen as an essential member benefit. A critical role is to impart research knowledge in a field where many practitioners are still not exposed to research culture. For instance, one hoped for outcome is that masters degree level course teachers use content in the journal to advance an understanding of a particular knowledge item but also learn how to evaluate content and show how critical research can be performed within the field, with a view to inspiring others to follow a similar path. The journal focuses on all aspects of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine alongside clinical and bio-medical research. It reaches overlapping fields such as integrative medicine, massage, physical therapy, chiropractic, naturopathy, neuroscience and the study of acupuncture mechanisms, as well as cost-effectiveness and implementation into mainstream medicine.
