The Lutuv (Lautu) Verbal Agreement System

Abstract

This paper provides a preliminary description of the verbal agreement system of the Hnaring dialect of Lutuv. The paper begins by providing a short overview of the Lutuv verbal complex to situate the agreement paradigm in a broader context, and then discusses the agreement patterns seen in both intransitive and transitive constructions. It concludes by briefly noting a change in the agreement paradigm that occurs when the subject is focused.
