THE RELATIONSHIP OF ]OB SATISFACTION, MARITAL SATISFACTION, AND HEALTH TO WORKING PARENTS' SELF-PERCEIVED SATISFACTION WITH CURRENT DAYCARE ARRANGEMENTS
Main Article Content
Abstract
Parental satisfaction with current daycare arrangements is high on the list of priorities for families today. What factors influence these choices? Is there an independent variable that is predictive of daycare satisfaction? This study focused on the independent variables of job satisfaction, marital satisfaction, and health to see if these factors were correlated with positive daycare satisfaction. The instrument used was a single page, double sided questionnaire with good scale reliability. Results showed that job satisfaction is predictive of daycare satisfaction, and that good health is positively correlated with parental satisfaction with daycare arrangements. When controlling for job satisfaction using multiple regression, marital satisfaction showed a trend where the effect of marital satisfaction on daycare satisfaction approaches significance. Results and future areas of research are discussed.
