Lack of Health Insurance in Census Tract 15
Main Article Content
Abstract
The focus of our research was to identify the residual effects of being an uninsured citizen; specifically those citizens within census track 15. Due to specific characteristics of this population, the community health nurse is faced with the unique challenge of providing adequate health care to individuals that avoid seeking medical treatment until their health issue has progressed to an untreatable level. Based on our research findings, we believe that there are effective ways that this crisis within the community can be overcome. Our ideas our founded in the belief that prevention and education are the foundation to a healthy community; in essence not just treating the illness, but preventing it altogether.
