A fieldguide for transformational syntax
Main Article Content
Abstract
This fieldguide is presented as a set of procedures for applying the theory of Transformational Grammar to raw language data. There is no doubt that the analyses initially arrived at by applying the procedures will need to be modified as the analysis progresses. Nevertheless, it is hoped that it will provide a useful beginning point as an example of the sorts of techniques which might effectively be employed in using Transformational syntax in the field situation.
