Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The Student Author Contract has been filled out and submitted online here.
  • Our Submission guidelines have been carefully read and followed.
  • The manuscript will be submitted in a .doc/.docx format or as a .zip file if submitting a LaTeX document. All figures and tables must be included in this manuscript.
  • High-quality versions of any figures or tables must also be submitted in a supplementary .zip or .rar archive.

Author Guidelines

Authors are able to submit articles for publication year round. We encourage submitting as early as possible to ensure the soonest publication date and to allow the most time for making revisions. For the best chances of being published, make sure to read our full submission guide here. We accept research in the form of full-length articles, research snapshots, or literature reviews. 

IUJUR places great emphasis on the importance of sound and comprehensive publication ethics. The Journal promotes and values ethical behavior throughout the research publication process, holding students, supervisors, reviewers and editors accountable and responsible for the highest levels of integrity. Publication ethics is the core of IUJUR’s mission to cultivate a culture of curiosity on campus and to foster an engaged student body by providing a unified, ethical and sound forum for undergraduate research.

Authors who publish with this journal agree to the following terms:

  1. Ownership of the copyright shall remain with the Author, subject to IUJUR’s use and the rights granted by the Creative Commons license assigned by the Author. A Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license will be applied to the published work unless otherwise indicated in the Student Author Contract. The CC BY-NC 4.0 license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/) lets others remix, tweak, and build upon the published Work non-commercially, and although the new works must also acknowledge the original IUJUR publication and be noncommercial, they don’t have to license their derivative works on the same terms.Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgement of its initial publication in this journal.
  2. Authors are permitted and encouraged to post their work online (e.g., in institutional repositories or on their website) prior to and during the submission process, as it can lead to productive exchanges, as well as earlier and greater citation of published work (See The Effect of Open Access).
