Main Article Content
Abstract
In the first-year product design course of the Product Design and Innovation Program at the Universidad del Valle in Guatemala City, I set students the challenge of working collaboratively with enterprises, in 2024 we worked with Guaco Café, part of the National Coffee Association, to design and manufacture high-fidelity prototypes for a commemorative cup. This product needed to meet formal, functional, and aesthetic requirements in ceramic capable of holding 6 or 8 ounces of coffee, using plaster molds.
