Abstract

“US Moon Missions: A Tribute to Katherine Johnson” appears in a course that is part of the "Rocket Science 101" specialization, an open online course (MOOC) launched on the Coursera platform by the University of Michigan in January 2024. This video narrates the contribution of Dr. Katherine Johnson to NASA and rocket science, covers rockets before, during, and after the First and Second World Wars, the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo eras, the Space Shuttle program, the development of small satellites, and current efforts to reduce launch costs and travel to Mars.

Ahmed Lachheb, University of Kansas

Ahmed Lachheb is a design scholar, practitioner, and educator. He was a Senior Learning Experience Designer at the University of Michigan's Center for Academic Innovation. He is an Associate Teaching Professor of Learning Design at the University of Kansas School of Education and Human Sciences, Department of Curriculum and Teaching. He is the Managing Executive Editor of the International Journal of Designs for Learning (IJDL) and a member of the Advisory Board of the AECT Center of Excellence in Publishing. His research interests include design practice, designers' design knowledge and actions, design theory, and design pedagogy.
