Abstract

This study looks at the test results for Jefferson County Public elementary schools to determine what factors may influence test results. There are several potential determining factors that influence the test results of Jefferson County elementary schools. These factors include the number of students enrolled for the school year whether or not the school is a “special” school; student to teacher ratios; the education level of each teacher in the school; and the average number of years of experience of the teachers in the school. In addition to the listed factors, data were obtained with basic demographics about the race and socioeconomic status of tested students.
