As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

We accept a variety of scholarly works that demonstrate high-quality academic rigor. All papers should reflect final draft quality and use proper academic sources. Accepted submission types including but not limited to: original research articles, literature reviews, case studies, theoretical or empirical analyses.

Submissions are open to: Current IU Southeast graduate students, including those enrolled in online programs. IU graduate students submitting work completed for an IU Southeast course.

Papers should not exceed 5,000 words, including references, tables, and figures. Submissions must be in final draft quality and demonstrate the use of proper academic sources. We accept submissions in APA, MLA, or Chicago style. If you would like to use another citation style, please contact the Journal Manager for approval. Submissions must follow consistent and professional academic formatting throughout.

Authors must include the following details with their submission: Title of the paper, email contact information, the name of the relevant course and its professor.

Manuscripts should be submitted as Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) files.

The editors of the GRJ will take reasonable steps to identify and prevent the publication of papers where research misconduct has occurred, including plagiarism, citation manipulation, and data falsification/fabrication, among others. In the event that the editors are made aware of any allegation of research misconduct relating to a published article in their journal, the editor shall follow the Committee on Publication Ethic’s guidelines in dealing with allegations.
