The Graduate Research Journal (GRJ) at IU Southeast is dedicated to promoting academic excellence by providing a platform for graduate students to publish high-quality scholarly work across diverse disciplines. The journal aims to:

  • Showcase graduate-level research that contributes to advancing knowledge within and across fields.
  • Foster academic growth by providing graduate students with the opportunity to engage in the publication process.
  • Strengthen the academic community by facilitating the exchange of ideas and innovative research.

Our primary audience includes graduate students, faculty, and researchers affiliated with IU Southeast, as well as academics and professionals interested in emerging graduate-level scholarship.

The journal exclusively publishes scholarly works, including original research articles, literature reviews, case studies, and theoretical papers. All submissions must adhere to rigorous academic standards, demonstrate originality, and make meaningful contributions to their respective fields of study.

Editorial Review Process

All submissions to GRJ undergo editorial review conducted by the journal’s editorial team.

Manuscripts are evaluated for clarity, relevance, originality, and alignment with the journal’s scope and mission. The editorial team, which may include editors and editorial board members, is solely responsible for reviewing submissions and making final publication decisions. Supplementary materials, if submitted, are also reviewed by the editorial team and are not subject to a separate review process.

Editorial decisions are made collectively by the editorial staff, with the lead editor(s) making the final determination regarding acceptance, revisions, or rejection.

Editorial reviewers are expected to give constructive, unbiased evaluations of the submissions they are assigned. They should consider a submission as objectively as possible and without regard to the race, gender, religion, nationality, sexuality, seniority, or institutional affiliation of the author. The editors reserve the right to edit or fully reject any review containing biased content and to end a biased reviewer’s association with the journal if we see fit.

Publication Frequency

The Graduate Student Research Journal (GRJ) is published annually. Each issue features original work by graduate student authors and is released at the conclusion of the academic year.
