Login or Register to make a submission.

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is double-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the GJTE Formatting Guide and the GJTE Manuscript Checklist.

Please submit articles to this publication system as Word files (.doc or .docx) in a 12-point, with one-inch margins, double spaced.

To help answer questions about formatting and style, please download the GJTE Formatting Guide (PDF). It provides some explanations and examples for authors. A shortened list of the guide can be found in the GJTE Manuscript Checklist (PDF).

Manuscripts should be blinded for review - please replace text identifying authors, authors' insitution, and projects that might identify the author with <Authors>, <Blinded for Review>, <Blinded institution>, or similar text. The text should be blinded for the review process. Manuscripts accepted for publication will then be returned to the author to replace the original text.

Each submitted article should include:

  • Title Page - containing:Manuscript title;
    • Full names, institutional affiliations and positions of authors;
    • Complete contact information for all authors including phone, fax, e-mail, and mailing address;
    • Acknowledgement of support from grants or institutions, if applicable;
    • Statement of place and date of any previous oral presentation of the paper, if applicable.

  • Abstract and Keywords – Include an abstract of 150 words summarizing the article. The names of the authors and institutions should only appear on the title page. Remove these identifiers in the abstract. You may replace with “Author” or “Institution” or other terms, to be replaced after blind review. Include a list of Keywords, separated by commas.

  • Manuscript – The maximum length for most manuscripts is 8,000 words, though articles up to 10,000 words will be considered if the content merits the additional length. Please use headings and sub-headings to demarcate important sections, such as “Introduction,” “Methods,” “Analysis” or other relevant descriptors. Remove any language that identifies the author or institution for blind review. (The identifiers will be replaced in the final version.)

  • Pagination – Insert page numbers in lower right, with the first page of Manuscript starting as Page 1. Do not add page numbers to the abstract or title page.

  • References – Use the American Psychological Association (APA) style (6th edition) for a complete list of references cited in the manuscript. Also use APA in-text citations in the manuscript, and complete bibliographic references in this section.

  • Supplementary Materials – Because articles are digital, GJTE accepts supplementary materials such as lesson plans, data sets, rubrics, large format diagrams or images, videos, audio and other material authors wish to share with readers. Editors reserve the right to make final decisions about what supplementary materials to include

Style Guide – Authors should follow American Psychological Association (APA, 6th Edition) guidelines. A shorter guide for formatting the manuscript can be downloaded in the GJTE Formatting Guide (PDF).

Images, Graphics and Tables – Authors are encouraged to use images, graphics and tables where appropriate to support the text in the manuscript. Insert the images, graphics or tables in the body of the manuscript where you wish to present them. Editors may move images based on page layouts in the final publication. Be sure you refer to the images in the text, i.e., “In Figure 1…” or “Table 3 presents data from…” near the inserted image.

Because articles are published in PDF format, full color images and graphics are accepted. Please use APA guidelines for referencing and captioning images in the manuscript. Photographic images should be at least 140 dpi and be of reproducable quality. Editors may choose to crop images in final publication. Images should be uploaded as .jpg, or .tif files. Drawings or black-line images should be uploaded as .jpg, .png, or .bmp files. Table should be inserted as inline text or tables in Word, following APA format.
