Abstract

I have a twin sister. I don't know how it feels to grow up with someone "who looks just like me" because we are fraternal twins. Her name is Susan and we are very good friends. We were born five minutes apart and I was born first. When we were growing up there were things I liked about being a twin and there were things  I hated about it. I loved being special, but hated it when people called us "the twins." I liked sharing secrets with someone my own age, but hated sharing my birthday cake and our high school yearbook. I liked dressing alike when we were young, but hated it when my parents bought us matching outfits when we were in the ninth grade. I loved having her in my French class, but hated it when she was called on to recite.
