The .xlsx file can be opened and manipulated in Excel. To load the .json file into a pre-configured visualization in Palladio, download the file, go to http://hdlab.stanford.edu/palladio-app/#/upload, and click on "Load an existing project." Under the "Upload from your computer" caption, select "Choose a file," locate the file on your computer, and click "Load." The map will load with a facet filter for Call Number. If you would like to facet by this dimension, select the call number(s) you desire. You may also click on the "Facet" button to create your own facet filters on other dimensions in the dataset (Collection City, Collection decade, Composer, Composer Nationality, Owner, Publication City, Publication Country, Publication State, Publisher, Subject, or Title.) When you have made your selections, click the arrow on the right to minimize the screen and view the map. The map has three data layers, which can be turned on and off by clicking on the eye icons. The pink layer represents the collection city, the blue layer the publication city, and the gray layer the paths between publication city and collection city. --------------------------------------- BIBLIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION  This data accompanies Karen Stafford's 2020 dissertation "Binders' Volumes and the Culture of Music Collectorship in the United States, 1830-1870." --------------------------------------- RESEARCH QUESTION(S)   --------------------------------------- CHANGELOG   --------------------------------------- COPYRIGHT & LICENSING INFORMATION
