Abstract

Education Transformation in Muslim Societies draws on contextually grounded scholarship extending a multifaceted understanding of Education in Muslim societies. The chapters offer an eclectic mix of writings on pedagogies and practices. Uniquely, these different strands of research in and on Education are woven together by one thread, ‘hope in context’. The idea of hope is equally multi-layered and multifaceted, though not an empty-signifier (Laclau, 1996) and one that is acknowledged to be situated (Haraway, 1988). The book is divided into five parts comprising ten chapters.
