| dc.description.abstract | This study examines the representation of gender in the top 150 animated films from 1980-2018. We analyzed the occupation, family structure, the gender of the speaking characters, and gender of the lead character. After analyzing these, we found that females were not as represented as they should be in films. As well as this information, we found females are represented in the most stereotypical manner. Animated films are a big part of most children's lives. With this underepresentation of females in films, this could have a direct impact on children's lives. | |
