Description

This report compiles multiple student-led proposals aimed at improving youth career readiness and community engagement in Washington County, Indiana, as part of the Indiana University Sustaining Hoosier Communities initiative. The projects include diverse strategies such as implementing a four-year high school house system for career development, hosting career luncheons to provide guidance on college and workforce options, creating student-run businesses to teach entrepreneurship and financial literacy, and organizing outdoor leadership programs to build teamwork and resilience. Each recommendation is grounded in interviews with local stakeholders, survey data, and sustainability principles, offering actionable steps to enhance educational outcomes, economic opportunities, and long-term community vitality.
