Abstract
As technology advances and the world becomes more globalized, young people are subjected to more information about various cultures. This information is spread to small communities with little diversity due to the media. This paper examines the common themes and stereotypes that are present in popular Latin music that young people are being exposed to thanks to algorithms and product discovery tools. This study analyzes common stereotypes and the lyrics that perpetuate these stereotypes among ten songs performed in the Spanish language.
