The Economic Impact of the Ohio River Greenway: Visitor Spending

Abstract

The topic of the oral presentation highlights the economic impact of the Ohio River Greenway on visitor spending. The purpose of this study was to acquire spending figures from visitors; using this data to quantify a component of the overall economic impact on the local community; and to judge visitor’s overall satisfaction with their visit. Key points and methods for assessment are discussed; defining the local area; followed by examining new and unique spending. The study and its results use tables to illustrate findings. The conclusion summarizes visitor spending, directly aiding the Ohio River Greenway Commission and the economic impact.
