dc.description.abstractIn January, the Northwest Indiana Coincident Index remained stable at 145.5, unchanged from December. Regional employment fell by 7,300 (-2.6%) as part of a regular seasonal trend, however, this was offset as Indiana steel production rose by 43,000 net tons (+2.4%) The forecast for economic growth over the next six months remains stable about 1%.
