After consistently strong growth since the start of the year (+0.9% since December), the Northwest Indiana Coincident Index remained stagnant at a value of 146.5 in June. This lack of growth can be attributed primarily to a decline in steel production (-5.7%) and the first decline in employment (-0.4%) since the start of the year. However, the forecast for economic growth over the next six months continues to remain stable at 1%.en
