The Northwest Indiana Coincident Index remained 144.0 in February. Retail sales and employment fell slightly (-0.2% and –0.1%, respectively), which is typical for the season. Steel production in the state fell by approximately 160,000 net tons, a month-over-month change of –7.9% and unchanged from one year ago. Average weekly manufacturing hours, however, remained steady at 41.9, having changed little over the previous year.en
