Description
This report provides a strategic plan to revitalize Campbellsburg, Indiana, developed by Indiana University’s 180 Degrees Consulting team. The recommendations follow a three-pronged approach: maximize resident retention, increase community engagement, and attract new residents. Key strategies include conducting resident and visitor surveys, leveraging asset-based community development, and hosting a business education event to support local entrepreneurship. The report outlines community engagement initiatives such as seasonal events, youth politics programs, and a new resident pairing program to foster inclusion. Additionally, it details marketing tactics and a value statement to highlight Campbellsburg’s advantages—affordable living, proximity to major cities, and access to natural attractions—to attract new residents.
This report reflects original student research and recommendations from Indiana University 180 Degrees Consulting in collaboration with Washington County as part of the 2020–21 Sustaining Hoosier Communities initiative. The views expressed are those of the students and do not represent Indiana University, the Center for Rural Engagement, or Washington County.
