dc.description.abstractWhat accounts for the high rates of teen pregnancy, contraction of sexually transmitted diseases and infections? Sex education is crucial for students with developmental disabilities, and the current sex education curriculum violates the spirit of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act which offers a free and appropriate education to students with disabilities. Educators, parents, and health professionals must not only be available, but also must find the necessary curriculum to establish healthy living skills for America's youth in general and more specifically for students with disabilities.
