Abstract
This study examines gender disparities found in popular children's media based on the 150 top-grossing animated films in North America (1990-2020). It was found that there are significant differences in gender parity and its impacts in the films. Factors such as the Bechdel Test, film gross, and the nature of the characters have been shown to support traditional stereotypes that may have negative effects regarding gender equality and representation. It is important to examine the stereotypes portrayed in the media in order to understand the possible impacts it might have on children's views of themselves and the world.
