Abstract

Part I of this primer in wenyanwen (Literary Chinese) consistes of fourteen lessons, each taking an authentic passage as its primary text, generally reproduced from a traditional edition. Punctuation is provided for each text, vocabulary is fully glossed, grammar notes are provided, and each lesson also includes a set of exercises. General vocabulary and grammar indexes are appended.
