Description

This snapshot summarizes the 2020 Orange County Youth Mental Health Needs Assessment, conducted in partnership with the Indiana University Center for Rural Engagement. The report explores community beliefs about mental health, perceived barriers to care, and sources of support for youth aged 13–24. Based on 103 survey responses, it highlights challenges such as stigma, lack of awareness, and cost concerns, while identifying factors that may improve engagement, including peer encouragement, positive role models, and trust in confidentiality. The document provides insights to guide local strategies for improving mental health resources and accessibility for youth.
