| dc.description.abstract | During this ASURE research lab, we use biosensors to detect if disulfide bonds are being formed in the periplasm of Escherichia coli. Although red fluorescent proteins have already been proven to have high levels of fluorescence, this study focuses on optimizing mKeima as a biosensor by increasing fluorescence intensity and improving sensitivity in the bacterial periplasm where disulfide bonds are formed. | |
